Promotions | Spend total value get discount percentage

Modified on Mon, 26 Aug at 2:01 PM

Overview:

This promotion is to incentivize customers to purchase additional articles over and above the spend of a certain value.

Criteria specifications (Promo ‘rules’): a) The Net Sales Total (after discounts) will not be less than R1 more than the initial spending amount (depending on discount given on addon items), b) Items discounted cannot also form part of items that make up initial spend value.

Spend minimum of R600 in store and received 10% discount on 1 x sandals.

Example 1

Yellow sandals is not discounted as sale does not meet minimum spend requirement of R600, in this case is R599

Example 2

Yellow sandals are discounted because sale meets minimum spend requirement of R600.00 which in this case is R599+299 = R898.

New price is therefore calculated as follow: 599 + 299 + (100 - 10% = 90) = 988

Example 3

Blue Sandals (cheapest promo item) is discounted because sale meets minimum spend requirement of R600.00. New price is therefore calculated as follow: R1,078 + R152.10 (R169 less R16.90) = R1,230.10.

Example 4

Promotion item(s) do not (cannot in code) contribute to minimum spend value.

Even though spend value meets the minimum spend value of R600, 7th pair of Yellow Sandals is not discounted because sales cannot consist out of promotion item(s).

Example 5

Yellow sandals is discounted because sale meets minimum spend requirement of R600.00 which in this case is R 399 + 399 = R798.

New price is therefore calculated as follow: 399 + 399 + (100-10%=90) = 888

Example 6

Yellow sandals (Cheapest promotion item) is not discounted because sale does not meet minimum spend requirement of R600.00 which in this case is R499.

As mentioned in test case 4, promotion items do not (cannot in code) contribute to minimum spend value.

With this promotion - when you select Reoccurrence: ‘Staggered’

Then promotion will repeat itself over and over every time you hit R600. I.e.

If you spend R1,200 then you get 10% on 2 x sandals If you spend R1,800 then you get 10% on 3 x sandals If you spend R2,400 then you get 10% on 4 x sandals
