Opportunistic Locking could NOT be configured

2024.2.0.0 and higher


Question:

We have upgraded from IQ 2023.7.0.0 to version 2024.6.0.0 and we are encountering the error below. 


Opportunistic Locking could NOT be configured. Administrator privileges not available. 

Please ensure that you are running IQ Retail - SaaS (Enterprise) as an administrator for this purpose. 



Steps to resolve:


Right click on the IQ shortcut and select the option Run as Administrator


If you do not have the administrator username and  password for the domain or local account, please consult the IT provider. 


Additional notes:


From version 2024.2.0.0 to 2024.5.0.0, the message appeared once a month. 

In version 2024.6.0.0 the message will not appear once a month. 


Why does this message appear?


IQ runs on an Dbisam Shared file systems utilizing Microsoft's Server Message Block (SMB) , these registry keys has to be implemented to ensure that the system can reliable read and update heavy data loads over the network.
