Question:

My financial year ended in December 2023, how do you set the system to not  allow the user to post back-dated postings to the previous financial year and is it possible?

Answer:

Yes, it is possible.

Notes [!]:

You need administrator access to the company details on the system.

Steps:

Click on Utilities

Click on Setup

Click on Company Details

Select the Closing Dates tab

You will note there is a Ledger closed up-to-date option.

You can select a date where the user will not be allowed to post journals or cashbook postings before the period selected.

Once selected, select the Accept button to proceed.

You will note below, that if the user tries to post before the period entered the message below will display.

"Postings not allowed Before Ledger Closed Up To date".
